User Management
User management in Stiple Labs allows project administrators to control who has access to projects and what level of permissions they have. All user management functions are located in the Members list at the bottom right of the project page.
Adding a User to a Project
To add existing Stiple Labs users to your project:
- Open your desired project
 - Locate the Members list at the bottom right of the page
 - Click the Add button (if you do not see this button, you lack permission to add members)
 - A dialog box will appear with a search field
 
Finding Existing Users
If you know the person is already a Stiple Labs user:
- Enter their complete email address in the search field
 - Click Search
 - Select the correct person from the matching results
 - Click Add to add them with the default Viewer role
 
If no search results appear, the person is not an existing Stiple Labs user. In this case, you will need to use an invite link instead.
Creating an Invite Link
Invite links work for both existing and new Stiple Labs users, making them the most versatile way to add people to your project.
Generating an Invite Link
- Follow the same initial steps as adding a user (click Add in Members list)
 - In the dialog box, click the Get Link button
 - Stiple Labs will generate a unique invite link
 - Copy and share this link via email, text, or other communication methods
 
Important Security Considerations
Share with caution
Anyone with this link can join your project and access all project data.
Link expiration: Invite links are valid for 24 hours from generation. This expiry only applies to joining the project - once someone joins, they remain a project member until removed by an administrator.
Updating User Roles
To change a user's permissions within a project:
- Open your desired project
 - Navigate to the Members list in the bottom right
 - If you have role editing permissions, you will see a three-dot menu next to each user's name
 - Click the three-dot menu to open the dropdown
 - Find the role dropdown showing the user's current role
 - Select the desired new role from the dropdown
 
Upon successful role update, the page will refresh to show the changes and display a success message. If an error occurs, an error message will appear in the top right corner.
Removing a User from a Project
To remove a user from your project:
- Navigate to your desired project
 - Go to the Members list in the bottom right
 - Click the three-dot menu next to the user's name
 - Click Remove Member
 - Confirm the action when prompted by clicking Remove Member again
 
The page will refresh upon successful removal with a success message. Error messages will appear in the top right corner if the operation fails.
Joining a Project Using an Invite Link
When someone shares an invite link with you, simply click on it to join the project. The process varies depending on your account status:
For Signed-In Users
If the link is valid and you are already signed in to Stiple Labs, you will be taken directly to your Home dashboard and automatically added to the project with Viewer role permissions.
For Users Not Signed In
If the link is valid but you are not logged in, you will see a dialog asking if this is your first time using Stiple Labs:
- Existing user (Click "No"): You will be taken to the login page
 - New user (Click "Yes"): You will be taken to the registration page
 
After completing either login or registration, you will be taken to your Home dashboard and added to the project with Viewer role permissions.
Invalid or Expired Links
If the invite link is invalid or has expired (older than 24 hours), you will see an error message. Contact the project administrator for a new invite link.
